Privacy Policy – Subtitle Translator for Netflix

What the extension does

The extension reads the subtitles of the Netflix title you are watching, sends their text to a translation service you choose, and shows the translation over the video. It has no servers of its own and no analytics.

Data it handles

• Subtitle text of the title you are watching. It is sent only to the translation service selected in the extension's settings: Groq (api.groq.com), Anthropic (api.anthropic.com) or Google Translate (translate.googleapis.com). Those services process it under their own privacy policies.
• Your API key for Groq or Anthropic, if you enter one. It is stored only in your browser (chrome.storage.local) and sent only to that provider to authorize translation requests.
• Settings such as target language and display options, stored with chrome.storage.sync so they follow your Chrome profile.
• Finished translations, cached in your browser (IndexedDB) so each episode is translated only once. You can clear them from the extension's popup.

What it does not do

• It does not collect your name, email, viewing history, account details or any other personal information.
• It does not sell or share data with anyone other than the translation service you select.
• It does not use data for advertising, profiling or credit decisions.

Removing your data

Use “Clear translation cache” in the popup, or uninstall the extension; Chrome then deletes everything it stored.
